Microsoft Security Essentials free Anti-virus security suite

Anyone have any experience using it? How does it compare to other free anti-viruses?

I'm thinking of installing it on a laptop which I don't use very often. I heard the installer is only a few MB in size.

I'm not sure, but I think I may put it on my laptop as it doesn't have anything but the free version of AVG.

The installer is only 4.28MB in size for Security Essentials, and installs fast without the need for restart. Updating to the latest virus and spyware definition is quick. I don't like how SE does not scan removable drives by default, but it is easy to setup SE to scan removable drives in advance settings. Quick scan seems pretty quick as well. Full scan took over 2 hours to scan my whole computer. My computer scaqn result is Virus, and spyware free. "Clean"

It does not slow down my laptop much.
