Remember the LOLCats meme? Well in this advertisement of Internet Explorer 8, a few celebrities (one of them being Beth Dover) are doing the LOLCat meme so that Microsoft can get their former IE users back.
To me, that's a very stupid idea and did Microsoft really think this would work? No, it wouldn't. Have your say on this.
Well it did work, you noticed it and shared it amongst us... After all their idea is to get it around to as many people as possible, and your helping them do so 😛.
Wait... it worked? Unbelievable. I'm guessing that it made a few people use IE again, since the majority prefer to stick with Firefox or Opera, which are better browsers.
Well you shared it, and I still feel happy with Firefox. I only rarely use IE. The last time to download Adobe Flash Player because for some reason it doesn't properly install on your computer without IE.
Microsoft should have been shut down years ago in anti-trust cases.
It has worked. When advertising you want to firstly try and get as many people as possible to talk about you, your advert and more importantly the product. It has achieved that as people are posting it in forums like this topic. The second objective is to get people to use the product. The more people they get to view the advert and the more people talk about it, the more people will use it.
