What changed with Microsoft Vista, that Google Maps, or some older
software programs won't work.. I found that I needed to get a whole

What does Vista do differently, compared to XP, that some software

Well google maps works with the browser so your OS shouldn't have any effect unless it uses a plugin...
Vista changes the code just like the change between phpBB2 and phpBB3. phpBB2 mods dont work with phpBB3 just as XP software doesn't (well some of it does) work with Vista. They've changed the code, added features, removed features, fixed bugs, worked on it and such
Vista is good but XP is better (due to bugs etc.) one "good" feature about vista is that if you click something that needs administrator permissions then it asks you like 10 millions times (pisses me off!).
vista makes me mad i had xp on my computer and it ran really fast played games at max framerate(i think, WoW at 60-65fps) then i put vista on and WoW now runs at (if im lucky) 20fps and i have an alarm for cpu temp it always goes off. my comp always freezes. it just sucks. im getting ready to max my motherboard on ram(4gb)(current 2gb) and also buy a quad core. all in all vista gets on my nerves with the software not working and slowness
You can? Ive yet to hear about this as I thought is was only for the Xbox, which I suppose IS owned my microsoft...but then why wouldnt XP and below be able to do the same? Links...?
I find Vista to have too many small programs like Windows defender, Windows Firewall, Smart cards, tablet pc software, etcthat are running that uses up some of the ram.

Microsoft Windows Vista is a great operating system, you just need to configure it all correctly. Windows Vista runs more programs at startup so it requires more RAM, the recommended amount of RAM is 2GB or more to run Vista smoothly. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, with 4GB of RAM and i've had no problems what so ever with it. Vista looks and feels so much better than XP, that enough was worth the switch for me, without even mentioning the countless amount of other features Vista offers. Vista had a bad reputation when it was first released, but since SP1 has been released it has grown more and more on people as SP1 fixed ALOT of issues. All of my programs that i had on my previous PC (XP) work on my new PC (Vista). Windows 7 is expected to be released around Christmas 2009 (NOT Confirmed), so just wait until then and upgrade to that instead of Vista, but i can tell you that Windows 7 is VERY similar to Vista.
