Like Cloverfield said, it's not that clever, but it's fun. 
A good ol' maths trick. Only works with 2 digit numbers, and so every 9th number is the same as you can only get a multiple of nine as your answer.
Also, a good card trick is similar to this. It works from 10 to 20 and the "magician" will always return to your card chosen.

Trick is that they choose randomly those each time and they are repeated as well. 😛
