I have found about 100 diamond legit in all of my minecraft days. And BOAT LOAD of iron. Especially since 1.8, all the ores are really easy to find.

And there shouldn't be any reason to be using a wooden sword, even at the beginning. Make a wood pick, mine 5 blocks of stone, and now you can craft a stone pickaxe and stone sword. All of 5 minutes.

That's exactly what I do. I make my Wooden Pick and immediately go get some stone. Why waste your time and clutter your inventory with a bunch of worthless wooden stuff if it sucks and you're not going to use it?

Yes but what if your say way way way down in the cave you have no sticks and no more iron picks?

I only dig two blocks into the stone when I get it to make sure that I don't fall into a cave.

I've recently been playing the 1.9 Pre-Release as well. A ton of updates have come out recently that have really enhanced the game.

@Agent: Is your server public? Could I possibly join you?

if you are an op on the server use the command /gamemode [username] [0-1]
with 0 being survival mode and 1 being creative mode and in creative mode you can destroy bedrock
