I wanted to try this out on my site but I just ended up going with advertisements. Maybe it will become more normal in the future, but right now, I don't think many of your users will be too happy with this. But there is a setting for Mineralt that shows an option to your users so they can disable it if they don't like it.

I saw a report a few months back about a coffee shop having free wifi, but the login page had a 10 second "pause" built in. During what seemed like just a laggy wait, they were really mining coins for about 10 seconds:
