Pre-Launch Review
Site Name: Modern Politicians
Site Type: Political Blog
Age: ~1 month
Appearance
From the top, I see you don't have your own banner and favicon. Your header still contains WordPress' icon, with only your blog's name. For professionalism, you'll have to make your own banner with touch of politics to let visitors know instantly what your blog is about (aside from the blog's name). The scrolling articles is an interesting idea. Unfortunately your articles' featured images are not big enough to fill the slider so it looks weird. Experiment on the size of featured image appropriate for the slider, and try to use the same size for all of your articles. One of your articles featured on the slider doesn't even have picture for it. Consistency will be a good thing to do.
I'm not sure what the one line "Enjoy your stay!" linking to your index page is there for. If you want to make a welcome message, write a more elaborated message and give special effect to make it stands out; with a table and background maybe.
No problem with the body and footer of the blog generally. I think you can save more space with the footer, though; remove unnecessary spaces, links (like that sole "Global Politics" link), and buttons to make it tidier and cleaner.
Layout
I don't really see a problem on your blog's layout. One point is that it is probably a bit empty, especially when you look at the sidebar. You can limit the number of articles shown in one page to cut the empty space, or add more to the sidebar. For example, news feed from other political websites or from news website. Or entries from your social networks if you have one. Or one of your quotes can be displayed there too and changed weekly. Use the space to utilize your content.
One other point is I feel it is rather hard to navigate on your blog, especially in returning to the index page. The banner/header isn't clickable so I have to use the small navigation above articles. If you can improve this, it'll be much easier to browse around, I think.
First Impressions and Interest
I haven't seen many online blogs or websites related to politic so this is quite an interesting view. Unfortunately I'm not much into politic, and I kind of feel not very invited to check your articles. Probably try to organize titles which cause questions in visitors so they are interested to check it out. Appearance wise it's fresh and clean, pretty good. Though it can still use some tweaks which I have covered above.
Content
What happened to your articles? You stopped posting since last August. A consistency in posting articles is very crucial to blogs. If you can't afford to write one article everyday, it's okay. Give yourself more time, say, for example one article every three days. Or get one or two writers to help around. I also see there are comments on the articles, but no response from the author of the articles. This can make visitors feel ignored and eventually they will leave. Try to leave questions at the end of the article to encourage discussion, and don't forget to respond to comments. The grammar is actually quite good, I don't find mistakes on it, so you're actually more or less ready for writing.
I also want to add about diversification. Take a look at your categories. Your top menu shows 3 categories, your sidebar shows 4. I think you can try to elaborate more, for example categorizing the articles if it involves technology, or just the government, or the legislative power, or related to law or consensus, and so on. That way it can be more interesting for visitors knowing that you write about many things in field of politics, and they may feel more attracted in reading your articles.
Words from the Reviewer
A month is not a very long time. Many can still be done to refresh the website and improve it to be more interested. What needs to be considered is your time and interest; since the blog doesn't seem to be active your decision will be important in its future. The idea itself is quite interesting so if you decided to keep it through, work hard for it. All the best.
