Monetization for a small forum

Hi Everyone

Does any one have any good ideas how to Monetize a small forum.

I wanting to be able to cover server costs and put back into forum for upgrades etc

PS: No Google Adsense

Any advice appreciated
 
You could make aftermarket computer parts store into the forum... Either do dropship parts or have a sell forum where members can buy and sell their parts pay were listing or commission..

Get a fan base sell printful of TechLand gear on it. (their laptop cases are nice.)

It can be hard if your site isn't getting allot of a good amount of traffic and people joining. I have game keys and software valued over $500 on the marketplace and haven't sold anything yet LOL

Hmm... try to connect with e-commerce affiliate networks and promote some offers close to tech. It may be VPN services, antiviruses or something more serious like drones, phones, or something like that.
Anyway, I hope that you will be able to find the right way of monetization! 🙂

I think the easiest thing is probably affiliate links or maybe buying membership for account upgrades.
 
A small forum you're probably better off with account upgrades, and paid banner ads that you do manually. Any sort of adsense you're not going to make all that much. For reference I was making about $100 every 1 - 2 months off of 500k-1.5 million views a month when my site was at it's peak. Meaning, any small site will take over a year to accumulate $100 which is the payout threshold.
 
You can try amazon affiliate program buy show your forum content related product.
 
I do direct sales on my forum, I sent out an email explaining the ad positions and asked if anyone was interested. I have some takers and the one member has been purchasing banners ads for a couple of years now.
 
I’ve only made 15c AUD for my small forum so ads give you something but not a lot.

Not bad, I made almost $80 AUD and then google taken it all away ;(
 
Use A-Ads. If you use faucetpay withdrawal, you can receive daily payment.
 
You can make it so that if a person who is a member on your forum can donate X amount of money and in return they don't have to see ads on your forum or they get a premium membership on your forum when special perks. Just a thought.....
 
Donations, banner ads from persons, contact local computer stores to see if they want to start advertising, Amazon Affiliate would be a good one for you.
 
Affiliate Networks is definitely a good option to monetize your blog. Pair it with push traffic and you are solid 😉
 
What about a donation drive? Like how Wikipedia does it? Ask people for even a dollar or two. Even if they're not covering the whole cost, some is better than none.

You can ask for donations in return that you never put up ads.
