Monitor black out once in a while

At first, the monitor of our home desktop was displaying a thin horizontal line in the middle. And then another horizontal line appeared near the bottom. Lately, the monitor blinks to a black screen as if it was a blackout. But the blinking is for a split second only. And it occurs occasionally, maybe once in an hour or so. Do you think it needs to be replaced?

Are you using a CRT box or a LED?

Can be anything from the Graphics card or the monitor itself.

The connection cables might be loose. Try checking on those first.
