Ok I'm happy about reaching 100 members, but the thing is, about 75 of them are inactive members! I don't even get much posts out of my active members like I used too. I just wish there was a way to get more active members than inactive ones. I need members posting too. Please give some tips:

http://pokeglobeunion.forumotion.com/

Note: I don't wanna hear "get a different host" because its getting annoying. After all the forums i have been through, I have to stick with the one I have now. I already got high statiticts, so I'm not gonna start back at 1 member 0 posts just for another host. If you give me an answer like these you are not helping me. Idc I will never leave Forumotion.

Put your forum url in your signature on every forum your part of, join forums that are similar to yours and people may click the link in your signature. Look at mine for example. Make more back links to get your forum to show up on google and yahoo and other search engines.

These tips have helped with my forums.

Get yourself a TLD and possibly a better host, those 2 will most likely increase traffic.

Also cut back on exchanging posts with users, yes these services may increase your board's total posts but they won't increase your board's active member number.

@monkey: great ideas

@nathan: sorry but after everything we've bene through, im not just gonna start over with a new host. forumotion will always be with me, i find nothing wrong with it, and i find it annoying when people tell me to switch hosts, when i already have such high statiticts. What is a TLD? If its some kinda domain I'm only 12 I can't buy that stuff. I know exchanges don't help, I have experience. Thats why I am tyring to do an active/active exchange that nobody will reply to.

Why are you saying sorry to me? You should say sorry to yourself cause your forum has reached it's maximum potential on forumotion. I can tell you now your forum does not have "such high statistics" they are quite low, and if your forum was so active then you wouldn't have made this topic would you? A TLD stands for Top Level Domain, without one your forum isn't going to do too great the same as your forum being hosted by forumotion. If your 12, just get your parents to fund it for you.

If you don't want to listen to people who know what their talking about, then your forum will stay as "active" as it is now. Good luck either way.

Are you TRYING to make me angry? I'm not saying my Forum is active. It isn't, but its better than all my oldForums. I have been through about 13 Forums, and everyone will stop caring if I make another. If i start over on a new host its just like a new Forum. I don't get why everyone hates Forumotion. There is nothing wrong with it. Your just gonna come in here thinking Forumotion sucks and that I should switch hosts too get more active members. Why should I need a different host, why can't people just join Forumotion Forums. There is NOTHING wrong with them. I know my statisticts are low, you tyring to say my Forum sucks? We've only been open for 2 months god dammit. I try all these different things and nobody comes on and bes active. My basic promotion topic doesn't get replys, Nobody will reply to my need an admin topic or my active for active topic. You are acting like Forumotion sucks. I have been using it forever and theres nothing wrong with it. Maybe I shoulda stated 'HOW TO GET ACTIVE MEMBERS ON A FORUMOTION SITE" Whats so important about a TLD? It just replaces forumotion with .com or .net....... Why is that so important? Its just words and you have to pay money for it! Nobody should care about joining a site just cuz a TLD. Also I tried that my parents won't get me one. I'm listening to other suggestions, but I don't like when people tell me to switch hosts. I'm sorry.

Top Level Domains help with your forum showing up sooner on every search engine. Forumotion forums don't exactly show up high, at all, on search engines. That's basically it's one big flaw, besides the advertisements. It's also looked down upon by the majority of the forum (not just FP) population. Not many forums have been incredibly successful on Forumotion.

Nathan said your statistics are low meaning you should switch over to a TLD before it gains too many posts/topics. You took Nathans posts a bit too seriously, just chill, he's only sharing his opinion on how to gain active members.

By the way, if you're interested in buying a TLD or upgrading your Forumotion forum (you can take ads off I think?) you should browse the Marketplace section here. You can post on others forums and do other simple things to gain to cash. All you need is a PayPal account, they're completely free to make and require no credit card information.

I hope I helped you out in some way. 😉

If they require no credit card info, then what do they need? I'm only 12. Thanks zawazuki this is good info.

All you need is an e-mail account, then you're solid. I'm only sixteen, and I've bought a ton of stuff via PayPal.

I put my email in, and it wont let me buy anything
Hehehe, PayPal isn't like Amazon or Ebay. You can go find websites that allow you to pay via PayPal. Think of PayPal as a bank account on the internet, you cant buy stuff from the bank. 😛

Godaddy.com has a PayPal option. You just have to look around to find sites that accept PayPal. 😛

Some countries, such as the US, require you to verify your Paypal account with a credit card or bank account. You can't do much with an unverified Paypal, if memory serves me correctly.

Oh i didn't know U.S. required it.

If you have a big forum having more active members than inactive ones is pretty much impossible.
