How do I seriously get more members?

Do my activity exchange or make a clan in some MMO and recruit in said MMO for your "clan," but the clan forum is your forum :evil:

There many ways you can get members such by doing exchanges or get a package. If you are lucky some of the members you do the exchanges with or a Package Team member may be a active member of your forum.

we have posted on myspace, facebook and have a blog as well. We are a specific board though and its hard to get members but the facebook has been working the best so far.

Lately we have had a LOT of guests but very few registrations so at least all of my promoting is bringing in visitors so I know its working.

I think it depends on who you talk to. Some may say advertise more, some may say advertise on social networking sites, and then again, some may suggest different options.

If you talk to me, I'd say advertise your forum EVERYWHERE you go (online), and get posting packages and exchanges. Also try to affiliate with sites that are the same topic as yours.

Always keep in mind that forums will go through inactivity cycles. Don't get discouraged too quickly, because as long as you keep doing what your doing to make it successful, it will be down the road.

You really need to become less dependent on services offered on promotion forums such as this one. These are useful ways to push start your forum, but are not meant to take the role of a permanent promotion campaign. Find innovative ways to attract members! Submit your press release to various PR sites. See if a prominent blogger would be willing to review your site on a slow news day. There are so many options out there. You just need to start thinking.

The best thing you could do is have an original forum.. a forum that offers something that most other forums won't. You might also want to appeal to a certain audience. Like my forum is only for Teens and adults aren't allowed. Of course, post exchanges and packages help a little 😉
