Would video, and video related activities like Skype/video chatting, video games, computer games, flash games, and video editing + computer 3d animation be more popular then text based activities like reading, blogging, writing, and other text based activities on a computer in the future, or are most people already spending most of their time on their computer watching videos, playing video and computer games, and video chating with friends.

I spend a lot of my time watching movies/DVDs, YouTube, playing games, and doing other video related task on my computer these days compared to when I had a slower computer with 256MB of RAM back in the early 2000s.

I think as computers and the internet becomes faster, and more affordable, more people rather just watch a video then read a blog post about something since I find some videos are easier to understand, and more entertaining then reading blogs since the person in the video can use facial expressions, change the tone of their voice, and use props which is not possible in blogs.

I heard a lot of people are mainly just buying Tablets to use Apps, play games, video chat and watch online video rather then reading.

I would say everybody has their own share of that so it is impossible to tell.

its possible though. i spend lots of time watching CBT nuggets and Lynda.com tutorials than reading.. so i think videos will be preferred later as people gets lazier 😀

My best guest is people who spend a lot of time watching TV will most likely spend more time watching NetFlix, Hulu, and other online video services and websites if they have a fast internet connection, and their computer can handle HD video without lagging.

The cool things about video is I don't have to scroll down a page while reading something which is 1000 words or more. I can just pause the video when I need to do something else, or use the fast forward button to skips the parts I know.

It's really what they do most.
