Most secure forum software?

Well obviously, the ex-admin had access to the Database, so of course it could get hacked, easy as pie.

Well i know mybb boards are hackable. Or atleast crackable.

Proof - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1351092

There was also a mybb theme site that got hacked the other day..

I think they got their forum back though.

That's because the admin didn't remove the ex admin as a root 😛 He should have edited inc/config.php

That's pretty mundane I must say myself.

Well since I can't find that mybb graphics board that got hacked, here is a link to mybb hacked stories.

I swear I am not lying lmao..

Not lying about what? All forum software has been hacked! I bet I could get hacked in a matter of minutes if I were to run an RC for the first YaBB.

Not to mention that on the first page there are only THREE cases mentioned and one of those was running an out of date version of MyBB (ie. insecure). Period.

What are you trying to prove? All forum scripts are crackable, but some are just a little harder than others.

Wow why so harsh lol?

I am just trying to proof to others that think mybb hasn't been hacked that it has and it is possible.

I know one MyBB forum I know that was hacked... then again the admin told his girlfriend the password, they broke up and she told one of his rival admins. He logged in... I'll leave it at that.
That isn't hacking. That is being compromised.

Wrong, It's called Social Engineering...

Btw, to ALL who say VB, do you know how easy it is to mess up the forum with just a MOD account? It's easy as 1,63,27. The admin won't even be able to undo it. Makes it more easy to get passwords for VB as there is more of a target range to go for other than normally 1 or 2 admins, you get 1 or 2 admins AND like 2 or 3 MODS also... VB's themes do leave holes. Ha ha!

~Daniel Williams the pwner of VB.

I like that title BTW. Lol.

In all honesty, I think that phpbb is the most secure software. With vB being my second choice.

I've never been staff on a VB forum; does it have a trashcan function similar to IPB 2.x/3.x?

With IPB, the administrators can set up a trash can forum that only they can see, and any deleted posts or topics end up in that forum, rather than being completely deleted. That way they can restore posts/topics easily.

Everyone is replying with their personal opinion witch is the wrong way of answering this thread. How about instead of saying your personal opinion, you research and see how much exploits have been made and so on. Better yet, you look at the source code and see if you can exploit anything.

It's like me saying "Windows is 110% security proof and Linux is virus infested". Does it make it true? No. Provide proof.

Keep in mind the age of the software as well. Th dates is when the software went stable. Note that newer software takes time to find holes in, so they may have less.
