What is the most you've gotten for one of your domains?

For just a domain, I think my biggest one was $500. Not much but I call it a feat because it was a crappy .info. lol I did a lot of work on it though so it was well worth the price.

Do people really pay over $100 for a domain name? I believe the general price of $15 to be a bit pricing. I am a budget person and poor. :bag:

People pay a lot of money for domains with great keywords, especially if it's a TLD. Companies will shell out millions. Wikipedia obviously isn't the most reliable source in the world, but here's a little list of expensive domain sales: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_domain_names

Anyways, I sold a domain for a sports forum a few years ago for a little bit less than $100. I believe it was MLBForum.net, maybe? I really don't remember now. I've had very little success flipping domains.

When you're a company that needs branding and a show of dominance, buying things up is what you do lol.

I usually don't buy/sell domains. However, it may be worth mentioning I lost out on about $500.00+/- for a domain as I listed it for sale and had to travel for long enough that the domain expired and the buyer was able to grab it for a fraction of the cost. 😕

A friend of mine owns www.oogle.com
They were offered a couple hundred grand for it, but they're not allowed to sell it or use it for certain purposes due to Google's attempt to take the domain. He registered the domain before Google existed, and Google has not been able to take it back. However, they agreed on a few terms that he has to stick to if he wants to keep the domain

Now he rents the domain out every month and I am not even joking, he is making tens and tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars per year because of how much traffic gets to the website due to spelling errors.

The most I have sold a domain for was $200, but it came with a web software I built so the person was really just buying a copy of my script and not the domain, but the site was getting around 10-40,000 visitors a month with around $50/mo spent on marketing. They took it & didn't spend a dime on it and got angry about it because they assumed they could just let it sit there and make money. I was happy to let it go because it was only one of my sites using my web script 🙂

And what an crap site that is, about farmings and it's badly designed.. What an lucky man! all he needs to put on that site is an image and that's it and make allot of money 😛

The courts force him to stay away from certain types of websites & he rents out the site for loads of money to the highest bidder. Farm equipment is big cash and maybe farmers misspell more? 😉

Most I've sold a single domain for was £40. Never really got into flipping premium domains.

I am amused whenever I would read that a domain name was sold for a high price. In one forum there was a discussion of selling domain names up to a million dollars. It is not easy to believe that claim because I don't see the logic of buying a domain name for such a price. A domain name is just the website address, right? I understand that there are people who are obsessed with a website's name especially if it is connected to their interest like a celebrity's name. But if I were them then I would just settle for another domain name that is available.
