In the US, Mother's Day is tomorrow, but a few of us like to celebrate all weekend. I know the UK had theirs a bit earlier than ours, and I forget when that was. Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there and moms-to-be!
We're going out to brunch with our daughter today and I can't wait to spend some time with her. We don't get to see enough of her because she lives in the city and I hate driving there. Parking is horrible. She had her car wrecked by a driver who lost her brakes and smashed into the back of her car and it was totaled, so she chose not to get another one. I kind of wish she would move to the suburbs, get a car and then come see me with her doggy.
Not sure if my mom will want to do anything tomorrow, haha.
I'm going to speed skating practice in the morning, but I'm going to pick up a slice of tiramisu (one of her favorites!) from the store on my way home. Might just get the whole cake, but we'll see when I get to the store. Other than that, we have no concrete plans. I have to be at work early Monday morning, so I know she's not gonna want to do anything that involves being out too late.
Might go to a skating session in the evening, and I know they've posted on social media that they're letting moms in for free with rentals included, so if I decide to go, I may try and coerce her into going and doing a few laps with me for fun.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I plan on seeing what my mother is up to tomorrow. She gave birth to me on Mother's Day in 1990 btw so my birthday falls on Mother's Day at times. She used to tell me all the time when I was growing up that I was the best gift she ever got that day.
New Zealand has their one today too! Me, my partner and my two siblings went out for lunch to celebrate and me and my partner are taking my mother to a local theatre show of Mary Poppins in a couple weeks.
