I'm not really sure about the red on a blue background. I mean, your site does it pretty well, but there may be some people turned off by it, simply because it's a strange colour combination.
But if you want blue and red to be the dominant colours, than the banner should have red in it as well, as a subordinate colour from the blue.
That's just my main concern, the colour combination.
