What are your thoughts on multiple people sharing an account?

On CH we had a couple sign up and both were using the account, so it was very awkward in trying to have conversations. We eventually convinced them to make separate accounts for the sake of clarity for our discussions.

Thoughts?

When multiple people are using the same account, it can create challenges in communication and interactions, especially on platforms where individual identities play a key role in clear discussions. To prevent misunderstandings and confusion, in my opinion, each person needs to have their own account.

I've never seen this on a forum before, but one of my coworkers shares a Facebook account with his wife. I find it a bit odd, to me it just seems like there's trust issues. I can see it becoming a bit of an issue after a while, unless the two people sign their posts with their name so you know who you're talking to.

As far as I'm aware this is something I've never had happen and I'm not sure how I would handle it if it did.

Not a fan of it at all. Like others have said, it can get confusing in conversations unless they're signing the posts with their names, but even beyond that, I feel like it could cause issues with punishment too. If person A starts breaking rules on the shared account while person B is perfectly fine and abides by all the rules, it's like punishing an innocent party because of bad choices the other person made. Much easier all around for everyone to have their own accounts.

That's a valid point!!

In the case of the OP, it was a nudist couple and the husband was not shy about showing off his junk.

It's confusing. Their posts are conflicting because you can see differing opinions. This guy and his sister shared an account on a forum I used to frequent. I never knew which one of them I was talking to.

Eww, why?? I'm not even okay with unwarranted junk pics to begin with, but I feel like it's doubly worse on a site geared towards Christianity. ;(

Maybe they just wanted the shock factor?

I've always been against it.

I'd rather multiple people from the same household create their own account as long as they're transparent about being in the same household or using the same internet that is.

But I even noticed on Facebook where couples share accounts. Like "JohnJane Smith" or something like that. I guess it's not so uncommon, but it still makes me want to require separate accounts.

I don't like this at all, and it reminds me of those couples that share a Facebook account. 😛

I'd like to know who I'm speaking to, and it just seems dishonest to me.

My sister and her husband shares facebook account and I have a difficulty in communicating with them
