Hello,

I'm sure many members at FP own more than one site, and probably own a Twitter account. Do you create one twitter account to cover them all, or one twitter account for each site?

If you don't have more than one site, if you were to create another site, would you have a separate twitter account for each site?

Cheers.

Well I personally think having just one acount helps, as if you create multiple acounts for multiple sites you'll surely lose some followers for atleast one of them. If you have one acount there is a chance for more followers and thus your site's news going to more timelines.
Also if you are going to post just rss feeds to an acount you are more likely to lose followers so if you mix it with your one acount and with genuine updates you'll not lose but gain if any followers because I know people dont like to follow just feeds.

You can't lose followers as such, rather not gain as much, but I get your point.

If the genre of the site/forum are completely different then I would create a separate account. Although it would take longer to update both of them.

That's where TweetDeck would come in 🙂

Yeah i agree, tweetdeck allow you to log in multi accounts.

I always have multiple Twitter accounts, one per serving function. I then manage them all with the Mac client I use for Twitter.

Unless the sites are part of the same network, I'd have different accounts.

I heard there was a tool to manage multiple accounts in one.. does someone have a link?

I'd use 2, if someone started following you to get updates on one site they dont want to be getting updates on a different site 😛

I would use two if the two website have very different topics. It would not make much sense posting about music on a computer repair twitter for my computer tech twitter.

There are many programa that will let you do that. Just do a Google search. David gave a good link.

To answer the question I make one Twitter account per project (forum,blog,etc.). That way all news can be in one place for people interested.

I don't create twitter accounts for my sites. I have two personal twitter accounts, but they are personal, not of the sites.

Usually I tell my users to follow me on twitter if they want updates about the sites 🙂

TweetDeck helps a lot when managing multiple accounts (not only Twitter ones, but also Facebook, MySpace, etc.),but probably there are things similar to TweetDeck out there that consume less RAM (Adobe AIR is really heavy).
