I wanted to share with you the 4 Android applications I use the most, as I find myself reading a lot of 'the best 5' type blogs and reviews quite often and don't feel this is always as beneficial. As let's face it, all of us use apps' that are not perfect for one reason or another - mainly because they are useful to us, but they may carry a bug or lag in some way.

Anyway, in no particular order, these are my 4 most used.

Skype

This has always been a favourite of mine on the desktop, as I;m sure it is for many millions. However, the Android application, whilst not perfect, is very useful, basic and easy to navigate. There are one or two small issues I find, for example it sometimes doesn't appear to let me sign out, and takes 3 or 4 attempts. Another issue I have encountered is that the chat history is not always consistently updated if I use my Macbook Skype app' then log on to the Android App' later. That being said, this is still a great piece of software and is every bit as easy to use as the desktop version. 4/5.

BBC Radio

For fans of Radio generally this is a great choice, for fans of the BBC this is also a great choice, for fans of both (or British Expats missing BBC radio) this is the best option. This application allows you to stream any BBC Radio station you please (local stations included) to your Android, all with very little buffering. I have had issues with this in the past though - for around 3 days it would not connect to the BBC server and no matter how many times I tried there was always problems. My mine gripe however, is that fact that it 'streams' the music, which eats through data and your allowance very quickly. All in all, if you really want to listen to the BBC on your phone, you have no choice but it could be better, 3/5.

Time Magazine.

Easily one of the best applications I have used, great content, brilliant navigation, constantly updated. I have one issue with it though, and that is it is generally quite slow to load. Otherwise a great app'. Simple. 4.5/5

The Guardian

A very clever idea for this application is the way that each evening you can set this to download the new days edition of The Guardian, and whilst this may concern you about data usage - don't worry you can change the settings to only download if you have a WiFi connect. Something most people do at home, so this is perfect. The interface is intuitive, clever, user friendly and polished. The content - both news and photos are of great quality and it is always a good read. My favourite app' currently, 5/5.

This is an example of a thread we currently have posted at The Product Forum.

I love Skype Mobile... Its so convenient... The best one for me is the Facebook and twitter...lol

I find the Facebook app a little frsutrating as it isn't easy to 'use as page'.
