Well, its official. For the first time I have experienced a light related downfall on the Sony side. My PS3 was acting funky last night (60GB by the way) and I try to turn it on but it would be an automatic shutdown every time. I tried it again today and I seen the light. The yellow light. I guess it is time to finally get a Slim model.

If you've ever played any of the Gears of War games, you'd know that the xbox is a better investment.
For around $600 (minus mouse, keyboard screen etc which you'd probably already have) you should be able to play any recent games on medium settings. Thats $600 for building a PC though, buying one from the store would probably be at least $1200 for mid range gaming.Matt14 said:

True MMO players, some of those being upgraded from FFXI Online will honestly not care a bit about grinding. When you bring in a few friends and just do quests it's actually quite fun.
@your comment about gaming PCs... Yeah have fun getting a virus and then you're 600 or so is completely down the drain.
Thankfully with a PC I can switch out parts and 97% of viruses are a result of user stupidity. With a console I'm down to the support of the provider. If microsoft or Sony decides its not worth to fix something I can't deal with it myself.
I just honestly can't stand MMOs, been 4 years since I tried WOW. Most are gone quickly anyway... just look at APB. Paying $50 and a subscription, then having the servers shut down 3 months later doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.
JRPGS and most Japanese games simply aren't fun to a lot of western gamers. Some like Lost Plant 2 are marketed towards the western market, but you can't hide the fact that they're completely different games.

Well Gimgak, I know you're smart enough to not get viruses. Sorry if I made it sound like that. I'm mostly just saying the average person who like has trouble opening Microsoft Word (yanno?) they would be best off sticking to a console gaming system.

Yeah, was just a general comment about MMOs in general. For me they've never been that fun; of course crpgs that I play wouldn't be considered as fun by most either.
The PS3 is definitely getting stronger, unfortunately some poor choices like removing custom OS hamper it down to 360 quality IMO. Move doesn't help much either (like Kinect)
