You should get into more advanced graphics, you definitely have talent.

Well you have got decent eye for matching icons with text now but now I would suggest you to go a bit further and yes brushes and effects to make your graphics even more impressive.

which software are you using ?

I would personally suggest you GIMP though because even though it is under-rated it suits your style of work (the same case with me).

I use photoshop CS5 for my creations. 😀

you will find some quickfire stuff here

but as you can clearly see photoshop is much much better when used to create artistic pieces.

However for web based works GIMP is much more apt and when you opt for it then you will find out that what text style you have been doing so far is a click away in Gimp 😉
