OK, so I've got a few members.. How do I inform other people to join??

I can see you don't have your forums link in your signature. Post your link in your signature. This way anytime you post on the board, your forums link will show up underneath your posts.

Create fake members that respond to your posts. That's how I got my forum started.

This helps tremendously. I make topics, and if activity is low I let my fake members post! 😀
Heck, even have a couple meaningful debates with yourself!

hmmm... these are good ideas. A couple of post exchanges here and there will help, hopefully...

I don't go in for fake members, paid postings etc. I go for inviting people you know to your board and starting it out small, and growing it from there. Your buddies will be the key because they'll join out of actually wanting to. It is a labour of love.

Been there, done that. Didn't really go well; not many of my friends were big on posting, out of those that even joined.

I've found my techniques to get things working, though. Almost 200 members, not counting the spambots that I regularly have to delete.
