I was first interviewed ever by InterviewedYou. I've never been interviewed by anyone else on the internet. 🙂
1. How long have you been on the internet and why do you use it?
I have been using the internet for long as I can remember. I first remember when we even got internet. It was dialup on a computer we had back when we lived in a trailer while our house was being built. The laptop only had like a 7 inch screen on it. I loved the internet soon as I saw “instant messaging”. So this was quiet a few years ago..maybe around 11 years ago.
2. Have you ever run a forum before, other than the support forum for your hosting service?
I have actually ran many forums in the past. I first came to foruming when one of my old buddies sent me an email advertising a forum he had. I didn’t even know what it was. It was an old ProBoards forum called “PRR” or PiratesRandomRoom. Ever since then, I have been addicted to forums. That has been many years ago as well.
3. You have a hosting service, USHost247, why did you decide to start it up?
Ever since my adventure of WHYI, (WeHostYourInfo) I have really wanted to re-try things to see if I could make it better then last time. I really want to become a well known host to everyone’s minds. So I decided to make a new one with a lot of thought into it and it seems to be going good so far. 🙂
4. What makes yours different and how successful is it really?
I couldn’t really say that it is different because all hosting servers are still servers and serve the same purpose. What really distinguishes servers from another is how reliable and fast they are. My servers run on Intel® Xeon® CPU E5520 @ 2.27GHz. So they are pretty fast and reliable. If you think about it, It is only nearly reaching 1 month old and I have a fair amount of clients, so I could say it’s doing good for one month of being open.
5. How many hosting services and forums have you had in the past and what happened to them?
This is only my 2nd hosting company that I have started on my own. I used to run WeHostYourInfo, but financial problems came along and forced me to shut down.
6. Do you have any advice that you’d like to give to others wanting to start their own?
If you want the experience, you won’t get it unless you try it. If you want to do something like this, do it. Don’t sit back and wish you did. It’s a great job to do and you get to learn a great deal out of doing it hands-on. I love hosting. 🙂
7. When your not managing your hosting service or browsing the web, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to spend time with my wonderful girlfriend who I have been with a little over 8 months now (was 8 months on 15th). Her name is Erica. We go out to eat, watch movies a lot. Just a blast. 🙂 I also like to hang out with my Dad a lot of learn things from him.
When it’s not freezing cold outside, I like to get some of my buddies together and go riding(motorcycle). My cousin is turning 15 this April, so he will now get to join the crew with his Kawasaki 900RR. 🙂
8. Is there anything else you’d like to share before we round off the interview?
If you’re looking to start your own hosting company, don’t hesitate to do it. Even if you have no clue, you will learn and it’s a great field to learn in to. 🙂 If you want to learn, consider getting reseller with USHost247 and we will help you along the way. 🙂
That’s it! Thanks for reading my first interview on Interviewed You, till next time… bye!
