My Forum Review

I am so sorry but I have been really busy today. We have had family round, I have been busy with OGF and had a few things to sort out so I just haven't had time to do it.

I'll get it done tomorrow for sure.

Sorry once again 🙁

Review By Ryan on Prison Break Forum

Number Of Members: (4/10)
Your forum has been open for nearly 2 years now and you have a total of 1808 members - which could be considerably better. 2 years is a pretty long time and I have known forums that have been open less than a year that have more members than yours. To get more members, you should try to promote your forum at every possible opportunity. Take a look at the ‘Advertise Your Forum’ section and join some of the forums posted there to advertise on. So, yeah, I have seen worse but I have seen quite a lot better on the number of posts point of view.

Number Of Active Members: (8/10)
After having a quick look around your forum, I can see that lots of your members are quite active and regularly make posts. There is slight room for improvement though considering that your forum has been open for nearly 2 years. Once again, to boost your activity you simply need to get yourself more members by advertising at every available opportunity. On my forum, I make all of my moderators advertise somewhere every single day and make them post proof and it is actually working well! Maybe you could give it a try?

Number Of Posts (Spam or Otherwise): (3/10)
For a forum that has been open for around 2 years, 101,000 posts is nothing better than average and I am very disappointed to see that over 72,000 of your posts are in the ‘General Chat’ forum. This shows that not too many of your members actually have big interests in Prison Break, which your forum is meant to be based on. To get more members posting in sections other than the General Chat section, you should create some kind of competition (with a nice prize for the winner) getting your members that use the actual Prison Break sections. I did it with my forum and it works brilliantly!

Appearance (First Impressions): (19/20)
I feel that the appearance of your forum is absolutely brilliant! It is really attractive with a colour scheme that stands out really well. I must credit whoever made your forum icons - they look fab! Your logo is very nice and really well designed. Another thing that I like about the design of your forum is the NavBar, the font that is used is brilliant and makes it stand out really well and the colour goes nicely with the rest of your forum. Well Done!

Layout: (14/20)
The layout is generally good with main discussion sections towards the top, followed by your off-topic areas and special areas such as your VIP Forum. The major problem that I see, though, is that your ‘Announcements’ and ‘Help’ forums should be right up at the top with the ‘Introduce Yourself’ forum. Announcements should be right at the top as it is the main place for information regarding your forum - all features etc are announced there. And Help should go with it so, when people are having any problems, it is there right in front of them at the top so do not have to go scrolling down to the bottom just to get some help. You should also remove your ShoutBox. You are a forum, posting should be the method of communicating between your members and not having a spammy ShoutBox. You will find that, by removing it, the posting on your actual forum will increase and you are likely to get more members as the ShoutBox slows down your forum slightly. On the whole, though, your layout it good.

Moderation: (9/10)
Your forum appears to be really well moderated, although for a forum of your size, you should consider getting one or two more moderators to keep the place well organised and stop any spam that is should be posted.

Activity: (8/10)
As stated earlier, the activity level on your forum is good, although could be improved because of the long time that your forum has been open. Tips for improvement have already been given

Spelling and Grammar: (3/10)
I have found that the following staff members do not always use good grammar and spelling: Manz, Nightlife and Aj_07. You should a word with them and get that sorted out as it discourages many members (such as myself) from joining forums.

Overall Mark (Out Of 100): (68/100)

[marquee]Thanks for getting a Review at Forum Promotion.[/marquee]

Cash received.

About the number of members and posts, i created the forum on september 2006, and then i got the domain on January 2007, therefore the forum has actually been running for just over a year, because as soon as i got the domain thats when the activity increased with the members joining and posting, so getting 100,000 posts within a year, i think is great. as you may have heard the forum got rouged by a corrupt mod in november thats why the prison break categories seem empty, previously they were very active but we had a corrupt mod who deleted loads of topics in the prison break sections (most over 100 page topics), so thats why you assume the prison break categories are quiet and theres not enough activity in them.
our off topic discussion is very active and theres nothing wrong with having many posts in general chat.

Whats wrong with their spelling?

Thanks for the good review about my layout and design though.

Okay - well I am afraid that I didn't realise when your forum actually opened.

You should have stated when your forum did actually open in your review request so that I could base it on that date.

As for the spelling issue, I am afraid that it was just basic things like having a capital letter at the beginning of sentences, for names, items and things like that.

Moved to Completed/Rejected.
