Alright so I was paid $15 for a domain name.
The person decided they did not want the domain name.
I had already started the withdrawal process (sending the money from Paypal to my bank).
So I got on the phone with PayPal and told them to stop the withdrawal process.
I then had the $14.62 ($15-paypal's cut) in my paypal balance.
I then did the refund, after the guy clearly told me on the phone the refund would deduct from my Paypal balance, not my bank.

Well they were wrong.
The $14.62 was taken out of my bank account, thus putting me in the negatives.
My bank then charged me $35 because I was in the negatives, and putting me at -$42.

Do you think it's possible to get PayPal and my bank to speak and resolve the matter because this was an issue with Paypal's system (not my fault). Or do you think it's possible to get Paypal to reimburse me $35 to cover the bank's overdrawn fee?

"False Promises" I am pretty sure for a company of paypal's type they would be able to do something its kinda illegal but most of it being some kind of communication error or system just go to your bank and discuss the matter with them or phone paypal.

I suggest you go down to your bank and talk to them, they'll probably resolve the issue. 🙂

Not that your finances are any of my business, but you did share them publicly so I'm going to share my two cents on this situation.

This whole thing could have been avoided if you had better management of your money. Your bank account (I'm assuming it's a checking since you're paying out of it) should not be so low that a $14 charge puts you into the negatives and causes an overdraft (and the fee associated with it). If you're that low and that short on disposable income, maybe you shouldn't be online and dealing with FP so much.

Again, just my thoughts on this situation. I realize it's not always as simple as keeping some "seed" money in the bank, but it is a good thing to get into the habit of doing.

depending on the bank you have they may help you but once you start the transfer it can not as far as I know be undone, You should have talked to paypal and told them t give you 72 hours for the money to clear your bank then refund it.

1) I'm closing my bank account and was sending funds to that bank account to give me some cash on my debit card for when I don't want to carry cash around (I live in Dallas).

2) Considering that I've already secured four years of college, food, and life expenses (worth over $300,000 overall), there's not really a need for me to get off of FP and get a job.

3) Do I have a ton of cash in my pocket? Nope, but if I wanted to I could have 1 penny in my bank account and I'd never need to ask for cash to cover food, water, events, sport fees, or school.

4) Thank you for your opinion and concern, and I apologize for not including all of the facts as it would have saved you time.

My bank reversed the $35 fee and resolved the matter without having to speak to PayPal because "I'm a valued customer and never have had a history of overdraft fees" So I'm happy about that.

Also, before someone says "if you have so much money why do you care", my reply is "A good businessman cares about every $1."

I've known and worked for a couple of very wealthy people and that's something that was very obvious about them. They watched their money very closely and would go to a lot more effort than the average person, to save a fiver.

Yes I was quite happy about it. I was surprised it was resolved so fast though. I assumed I was going to have at least have PayPal and the bank talk to each other, but I didn't have to.
I'll be talking to PayPal to figure out what exactly happened so I can avoid this in the future. Though I'll be closing my bank account and disconnecting it from PayPal, so I don't see it being a problem in the future.
