My laptop behaving abnormally.😔

I have been facing some issues with my laptop, it has become pathetically slow. Even if I have updated my windows 10 to the latest version, and also upgraded my Avast antivirus but it still refuses to run faster.

I normally put my laptop in sleep mode all the day while in charging, is that the reason for my laptop being so rude with me? 😏

My laptop configuration are as follows:
Make: Lenovo
Ram: 6 GB
Processor: Intel i3 5th Gen.
Graphics: Nvidia 2GB.

Are you using an SSD ? Was your PC faster before ?

How much RAM does it consume when it is idle ? Heating can cause issues, that is a fact. Not sure whether it is the same in your case.

If you know enough, you can " Reset " Windows 10 and make your Windows as good as new.

I would just remove Avast antivirus and use the Windows defender as that does a good job and also if it's free Avast that you use then you not going to lose anything. End of the day they are money makers.

Check to see what programs start when you are turning on your system. Might have so many things open that you do not need to have them open. By going into your "Task Manager" then "start-up" then disable or enable the list of programs that are listed. Most of mine are disable and so they won't start up when Windows starts.

• Yeah, SSD or HDD - Sounds like to be you have a 500GB HDD as it's an older laptop as it's the 5th gen.
• Do you use Google Chrome, if so then that will eat up your 6GB of memory, I have 8GB in my system and using 5.8GB at the moment.
• Last time you had Windows 10 installed. Updating it is not always the case for speeds. I say tell us what you are running and what programs you are using mostly the time.

Take an image of your task manager and see your percentage on everything while you have Chrome and whatever you have open. Then we can see what's eating it all up 🙂

Seems it's running slow as your system is maxing out to 100% and can't load and go beyond that. And if you are on HDD then that will slow it down and need to see or check if that not failing.

Answer to your observations:
1. I have 1TB HDD which was given along with the laptop.
2. I use Google Chrome as well as Mozilla Firefox.
3. The sluggishness increased after I updated my windows.

I had that problem and you know what it was? The Windows update decided to make Defender my default antivirus protection which meant that my Avast and Defender were battling it out and slowing down my system to a complete crawl. I uninstalled Avast and it fixed the problem.

Seems like I also have the same problem. Just uninstalled the antivirus, and also deactivated the firewall. After restart, now the computer seems working better than before. 😀

Google Chrome

Have the task manager open and see how many resources it's using. Chrome eats up allot anyway more then others with extensions
