myBB was the second forum software that I ever used and I have loved it ever since. For me when I first got into forums, I used phpBB 3 with forumotion and it was super easy. It had great looking themes, easy to use and was perfect for a beginner. Then I learn't a bit more about the technical aspects of forums like installing stuff and hosting it by yourself. myBB was just amazing when I began to use it. The community is full of lovely people ready to help, not that you will need much help using it. The ACP and front end is super easy to understand and customizing the forum to your liking is as easy as counting to 10 (as long as you have basic knowledge of HTML and CSS).
The great looking themes and plugins are great and the ease of installing them is the cherry on top of the cake. My only problem would be the lack of enough themes for 1.8
I would definitely recommend it to anyone from beginners to those already using it.
