I have two pet birds. They're budgies, and they are full of spunk when doing stuff with me.

Their names are Joey and Ellie. Joey is on the left, and ellie is on the right.

Got Joey on my birthday, back on May 25th of this past year, and recently got ellie from my sister for Christmas, because the 4 other birds she has, made her go antisocial.

They are pretty cute. I'm sure they keep you company.

I absolutely love budgies! I remember when I was a kid we had a budgie and he was blue just like the ones in the image you shared, remember we called him Billy and he was a really happy and energetic bird. We only ever had the one though and I always remember we would have to cover the cage with a bed sheet so he wouldn't tweet in the night and keep people awake.

Would you say that budgies are better in pairs? I know I always seem many people having budgies in pairs rather than on their own.

They are labeled as social birds, because they tend to do better when you aren't there, if they have someone to chirp with.

A lot of birds are very social. They either have to bond with their owner or they have to have another bird to bond with.

That is something I never knew. They do say that you always learn something new every day. My kids have often asked about getting a bird as a pet and I was always reluctant due to us having a cat at the time. Definitely, something to look into if I ever choose to get them budgies as a pet to have them in a pair.

I noticed he hangs out on my shoulder for longer periods of time, since ellie was brought over. Which makes things harder for my family, as they can't get him when I'm not around, when it's just him and ellie. Otherwise it doesn't take much to get both of them to come with me around the house.

Sounds like they like being around you and each other.

I love my wild birds but have never had any as pets. They have beautiful markings!
