What do you mostly use it for? Since it's on a home connection you can't really do anything and everything on it. D:

It is connected to my router which is then networked to all the computers in my house as a network drive so files can be stored and organized on the server and save my personal laptop diskspace. It is very handy.

The tower: Nothing.

Upgrades: (OS, hard ware, ect) around $500. Most of this was the hard drive and RAM.

Unfortunately the computer can't handle anything above 2000 that I have tested under controlled variables. Thanks for the link though 😀

Do you really need that much for a server you aren't going to use for anything but private file storage? You can get a 320 gig hard-drive for like 50 bucks.

Well it will last a very long time and is reusable, will almost never have to delete anything. And I mean there is always room for expansion.

I may use it for other things later down the line.

Well, do realize that every 2 years PCs become out of date. Particularly with servers, if you want to use it live then you'd probably need a new one by the time you wanted to use it, especially since this is already a very old PC as I understand it.

Yeah, the sticker says made for 98, which is a crap long time.

I wouldn't expand it for web usage (making it a web server), too much work, time and understanding of that stuff. I have other ideas :lol:
