He could afford better hardware with the money he would save by not getting 64GB of ram =]Jake said:But don't you get the pleasure of having an amazingly awesome PC?
I will be going dual 550's. They are only $99.99.Snobothehobo said:I would definitely get a better GPU over 64 GB of RAM. If you have a better GPU with 12 or 16 GB of RAM, I think it'll be better than a worse GPU with 64 GB of RAM. In fact, you could probably even afford a solid state drive if you went with only 12 or 16 GB of RAM.
Well, to be honest. I'm not going to be HARD CORE gaming. Just some of the popular mmo games and such. Nothing that will require some very very expensive card.Tucker933 said:When possible, a single card of equivalent performance is better than multiple cards unless you're running more than 2 displays. A lot of games don't fully make use of the processing capability of both cards partly because developers don't code for it, and partly because neither SLi or CF is near 100% efficient.
So unless you need the ports for extra monitors, with mid ranged card like that it would be best to find a single card capable of the same performance.
How you figure?

-- October 2nd, 2012, 4:15 pm --

Had to show my tail to TigerDirect again because they sent my parts back to me after promising they wouldnt and that they would accept them even when UPC labels were off the boxes. They sent back with "other" reason checked and said I was missing UPC labels...I called them and then they said ship back and I pay return shipping..I showed my anger even more and guess who paid return shipping. 😉junkfroggy said:This is a terribly unbalanced build.
