MyBB Code is speghetti

I heard this from some people:

MyBB : Easy on both the user and admin, lightweight on the servers, relatively easy to theme. Good luck trying to develop on the spaghetti code that drives it. If you're not trying to build your own plugins and stuff, MyBB is by far the simplest and nicest to use on the admins and the users.

So what do you think?

Plugins for MyBB are relatively easy to make. I don't have the time to make them, but if I did then it would be a great hobbie. The code isn't like spaghetti IMO, it's easy to code.

Plugins are easy, MyBB uses hooks. No manual core editing like phpbb.

Theming and making plugins for mybb is not to hard. However it can be very limiting on what you can do with it though.

I have never actually made a plugin, but I have attempted a theme, and it is pretty easy. And although you don't need to edit code to actually install the plugin, it does make it more apt for them to be paid plugins with paid support.

I would imagine the more simplistic something is, the more limited you are. I suppose if you wanted to create more simple plugins, it would be appropriate. I'm just saying this from reading the topic though. I've never actually administered a myBB board.

Honestly it is very well coded. I could easily create a plugin on it.

Yes it is very easy compared to phpBB but lacks in other spots that phpBB doesn't

Are you kidding? MyBB's default theme loads faser than phpBB's default style does. There are plenty great themes for MyBB, plus it costs around $40.00 to get a fully custom made theme (from a specific designer) whereas phpBB custom styles start from what? $60.00-$70.00?

Agree with you. If you want to get a customized theme, my recommend is Dynaxel or Audentio Team. They're best among best designer of MyBB :great:

Because it is very very old open-source. So it must have more designers. But i thought myBB's default theme load very fast.
