My friend is making me a mybb theme for my upcoming myBB powered forum CoolHangout. I wanted your opinions of the work he has done so far. I think it is pretty good. Except for the font on the banner of it which I asked him to change but anyway..

What do you think? Also no it isn't 100% finished. 😛

A little basic in the header. Needs to have different colors.

Dosent look that appealing to me, makes me think its a nature forum. Maybe he can make some improvements.

I personally don't like it. I think that tone of green makes the whole thing look dull. The CP section looks out of proportion with the text being way too big and the box outlines being unnecessarily thick.

Agreed. It would look a little better if it was another color. The type of variation of green it is makes it look bad.

Blue would be a cool color, and maybe a better logo?

Whats wrong with the current logo? Other than the font. 😛

Looks good. I don't like the logo though.

Just not liking it does not give me much of a reason to change it. 😛 I need details.

Well I have been working with MyBB themes for a while now, so here is my advice:

I love the user cp, it looks awesome. The color combination is not as bad as people are saying, they just like to hate. lol. I do not like how the logo does not really blend in with the over all layout. It looks like someone blended it with paint, that will keep a lot of visitors away. It should be a logo that is transparent around the background.

I think the color you currently have could work if you used different tones of that color.

-- April 8th, 2011, 7:13 pm --

I think the color you currently have could work if you used different tones of that color.

I'll see if we can change the current logo and just remove the background of it. Once we fix it and make its transparent I will be posting a new screenshot of the updates we made soon!

-- 09 Apr 2011, 03:52 --

Update: http://i.imgur.com/6e8Ip.png

Yah I know 'subforum' was a typo. But it was a mistake by the designer who is making our theme. It is not a problem it is only a demo and still unfinished. So does the logo look better now?

The logo looks a lot better. I would like to see the theme with more blue rather than turquoise. Then you could make the text white and the background black.

Anything better than Grass. Being a bunny the grass looks tasty.

Why would I make the background black? Also the color of the theme seems fine as is.

What grass?

The green one but it's been removed. ;p

I still do not really like the theme.

I disagree... depending on the type of forum it is, a light background would be more appealing and professional looking. One color templates are a bad idea IMO because its sort of like an in-your-face type of feel to the user. I suggest keeping the header the way it is and change the body to a light color, maybe an off white or a white gradient.
