Anonymous did not do this.... Did you not even read the page lol? It is a group called ugnazi that did it.

Its been down since yesterday. However early this morning they got control back.

Nope all that seems to have happened is the MyBB site got DNS posined. However the hacker group claims they have database access and is threatening to release it.

The software itself didn't get hacked. They took control of the domain name and pointed it elsewhere.
 
It looks like their making progress on getting things straightened out:

Dear MyBB users,
Last night our domain name and hosting accounts were compromised by hackers.

Users of MyBB should not be concerned about their own installations. There is nothing to indicate the MyBB software itself contributed to the hacking in any way.
We hope to restore access to all services as soon as possible. At this stage we don't believe our database was compromised, however we recommend users stay vigilant to unauthorized access of their accounts.

Thu 31st May @ 2:42 PM GMT: We're currently in the process of taking a snapshot of all of our existing data to begin looking through it for signs of compromise. Over the next 24 hours we'll continue to work towards having parts of the MyBB website accessible again.

Thu 31st May @ 11:15 AM GMT: We are pleased to say that we have control of the MyBB.com domain again. MyBB.com will be back online shortly, but services won't be available until we have thoroughly assessed what, if any, access the hackers had to our server.

It is still down for me, but this is quite a shock!

If you think about it, no website is safe if even a site like mybb.com can get hacked. If these hackers did indeed hack it and not only got domain access.
 
I wish you guys would stop calling it hacking, there was no sql injection or any attack, simply those kids got the password to Chris's domain registrar and edited the index. I see no hacking, I see script kiddies running around with little keylogger scripts and Chris probably fell for it. I have no idea what happened but MYBB is pretty damn secure .
 
Hackers these days, no site is safe. If my site got hacked, I would take legal action so I am unsure why MyBB didn't unless they did. Then again, it is a group so it would be hard to track them all down.

They got lucky and came over a password and want to make it look like there are flaws with the software. In my opinion people need to stop being so gullible and actually find out what has happened. Passwords get mislaid and into the wrong hands now and then, the software is secure so don't say it isn't. It is a shame and I hope they get mybb.com up again soon.
 
2 High profile attacks in the last few days by UGNazi. Seems they wan't to make a name for themselves, They claim to have a copy of the DB and are threatening to release it like they did with Whmcs.

They did it because they hate Hackforums and labrocca, though why didn't they just go after HF instead of taking down an open source project? Seems like they don't have a care in the world about anything or any values, apparently.

Their script kiddies huh? I guess thats why in the past week they have found several exploits in WHMCS...

They also have the MyBB database and threatening to leak the database just like they did with WHMCS.

Think I care? If your system has exploits and is insecure that's your fault not mine. I don't see hackforums getting hacked, they sure sound like hackers now! You believe everything you read on-line don't you? Just because they say they have access to a MYBB DB of users doesn't mean nothing. What's the point of obtaining access to MYBB db anyway? It's free software, think before you post.
