MyBB Extras giving away all premium plugins for free!!!!

Today I checked my inbox and found this message from Janota:

Hi All Members,

As you all probably know lufti (DragonBuzz) has taken control of mybbextras.com as a result of him finding my user/pass combination for my namecheap account and several other accounts. Ive since submitted several fraud reports against him and his IP address. So we'll see how that goes.

Anyway, Ive setup a new domain "mybbextras.net" its almost ready to launch, same site, same database if you received this email your already registered, login using your mybbextras.com user/pass.

If you wish to stay at mybbextras.com thats absolutely fine. But bear in mind that "Lufti" lol is not a developer, so Im not quite sure how he intends to keep mybbextras.com up and running lol and give support lol.

After what has happened, Im going to release all my current plugins to all users for free. All updates and new plugins from today onwards will be released as subscriber plugins. So basically if your a normal member you'll be able to download all plugins that are currently in the subscriber section for FREE. I'll be uploading the plugins over the next few days for everyone to download.

This is really sad what happened to him but thanks to that he's giving away all his coded work for free on mybbextras.net . Not sure how long, but for sure not that long as you might hope. So hurry up and start downloading lol!

For the mybb forum owners who aren't subscriber please +rep me if you found this useful. 😎

Huh. Finally Janota is leeching his own plugins.

That guy is found to leak paid plugins from major 3rd party sites, and was banned from MyBB too. Now finally he leaks his own after selling that site to someone else.

I would NOT download even a single plugin from his site now. How can we be sure he won't have any backdoors in it? Also, since he sold the plugins too to the new owner, the plugins are copyrighted to the new owner.
If you gonna use those leaked plugins, you might be at risk of copyright infringement.

I heard from someone that he sold MyBB Extras. I don't know whether that lufi guy is a hacker or new owner.

Either way, i never trust Janota.

I don't know which side is true. But he got what he deserved.

@ShadyX: The new guy isn't a known MyBB developer. So, i would advise you to stick to Janota's site.
However if i were you, i would forget the subscription, and get away from both that sites.

Not sure how he will check if you have deleted your account or not as .com is down. So you can still be a subsriber there i think on the .net.

Open a paypal dispute. Janota has no rights to deny your subscription just because you haven't closed your account in another forum.
Its his duty to protect his forum from being hacked (which he claims, and i don't believe it). If he got hacked and he start another Forum with same database, its his duty to file a lawsuit and take down the hacked site. As a user, you have no need to do it.
