MyBB or phpBB?

MyBB: looks better and it's much easier to customize and install plugins.

It's a "different strokes for different folks" thing. I've done very well in the search engines with MyBB + Google SEO + Further SEO improvements in the templates (h1/h2/p, all that whatnot). I actually recently sold my MyBB forum.

Inb4 all the PhpBB3 fanboys show up.

Yeah, MyBB. Plugins are reasonably easy to install, the Admin CP is reasonably simple and the layout is nice as well.

Not to mention the merge system is sweeeeeeeeeeet. B)

I would choose phpBB over myBB any day, I have used phpBB for many many years so am very comfortable with it

Its all about personal preferences, use what you're comfortable with..

Each script have it own advantage whether it is vb/phpbb3/mybb but mine is phpbb3 because I have only used phpbb and vb.

I would pick MyBB any day. Its easier way more attractive, has more features and not to mention that it has a really good plugin system (tons of plugins to choose from as well).

MyBB by a mile. Hurray for easy to install plugins!

There are actually some features of MyBB that I miss on IPB (which I use currently) - the ACP is nice, simple and easy to use. IPB is a bloody maze to navigate through. MyBB's templates are also really easy to edit, compared to IPB's jumble of XHTML.
