MyBB or phpBB?

Which would be the best? I am currently on MyBB but looking at phpBB, it makes me want to convert over. Although, the only thing bothering me is all the edits you have to make when installing MODs.

If I was to convert, then I think I would start from scratch. Looking up some topics on converting, I have read a few that didn't go too well, so a fresh install would keep my mind at peace.

But, I would like your thoughts.

If you already are familiar with MyBB, then I see no point in converting. If you do not know phpBB at all, then it will take extra time to get used to it.
I have used phpBB for years and I know a lot about it. I would never use MyBB.
If you would like to start over with phpBB, then you have my blessing (lol). It is a really great piece of software!

Thank you Zaborg. It doesn't take me long to get used to a software, so converting won't be a problem for me. I can always get help with it.

Then go for it! 😀
And try to install some mods, it will teach you a lot. And don't be afraid if a mod is heavy and takes time - it will only teach you more how phpbb works etc.

It's more of what you like. i personally don't mind which one as i have used both and like both. it's what ever you are most comfortable with.

Definitely MyBB IMO.

It's my favourite forum software by far.

If I was you I would stay with MyBB, because it's easier to modify than PhpBB, it's more secure and it's overall a better piece of software IMO.

I would stick with mybb,it is more modern,easier to use,more secure,and imo is better then phpbb.
