MyBB or SMF

I have been using phpBB, It's too hard for me.
My forum is going to be a Advertisement / Webmaster / Services forum.

Please suggest MyBB or SMF?
MyBB has points per post/topic, & i don't think SMF hasn't.

You are going to find both to be useful in different ways, you should try demo boards of both of them to see which one you like the best. I have found MyBB to be the easiest to deal with, and it has a huge community behind it. That would be the one that I would suggest you go with.

Although mybb is not the first choice for people when it comes to promotion forums, I think it works great with the right stuff.

Both MyBB and SMF has shop mods just so you know.

As for which one to use,I think you should make a test forum for each and get the feel for each.

From there you should be able to choose which you want to use.

SMF and MyBB are great and easy to use,and have huge communities. So you cant go wrong choosing either one of them 🙂.

It's a very good forum software.

I'd definitely recommend going with MyBB, in my opinion, it's by far the best free forum software on the internet at the moment and could easily be commercial and still be very popular. SMF just seems like it's outdated and hasn't really been worked on in the past couple of years. Overall though, MyBB is your best bet if you're going for a free software. 🙂

There's a Reputation MOD that gives points per topic/post, or an SMF Shop that gives forum cash per topic/post.

Yes, SMF has one, and we been using the Shop for the past year. you can even set up EACH board on your forum, to give a certain amount per new topics, and new replies. For example, our spam boards give nothing, but the Blog and Brawl sections give the higher amounts, and each one is custom amounts on different boards for what members earn.

Yeah we have SMF and we use the shop. It's great, it lets you have a bank, and trade points and items. And you can customise it to allow that stuff or not.
