myBB Rep System

So...

I've been looking into myBB again this afternoon and it's fascinating. Granted the Admin Panel is a little confusing at first, but generally really good.

Anyway whilst looking at the reputation system I noticed it's, well...odd. Am I right in thinking that users can only give reputation to another user once, any any further reputation given by the same user overwrites the old rating?

For example a user has 0 rep points, if I give them +2 they'll be at +2...but then if I give them +1 they'll only go down to +1 instead of +3?

Anyone know what I mean? Confused :shrug:

I used the MyBB Rep system on my old forums and it I did not like it...the MyBB rep system is the worse I ever seen. :shock:

Yeah, it's not the best system, ok for something coming with the software right away though. Hopefully soon though it'll be changed

Yeah that was not very smart on their part. I think their reputation system is more of a user rating system.

They should just have both. Users should be able to rate a user. A newer rating would overwrite an old rating.

Reputation should (as normal) be added up each time you add to another user's rep.

Wow, I really didn't notice this before and Ive been using Mybb for almost a year. lol

Good to see it will be improved in Mybb 1.6 - witch I can't wait for!
