I recently transferred my forum to a new host. Everything went smooth, but i face some problem with MyBB server load. It spikes around 15-30, my old host had a server load of 2-5. Kindly help me in this.

I haven't changed anything as everything was just transferred from the old host and only few plugins are running.

Few questions:
  • Have you attempted to disable all plugins and re-enable one-by one to check if any of them are abusing resources?
  • Have you attempted to contact your host about this?
  • When it spikes, does your forum load slowly?
  • Could you printscreen the server stats shown in cPanel? It's at the bottom of the sidebar http://prntscr.com/87rc66
  • If your hosts uses CloudLinux or Resource Manager, what is the resource use of your site?

1) I disabled all plugins for 30 minutes and i monitored the server load it was still 18-25
2) I contacted them they said there is not issue from their side and my site perform normally.
3) No it doesn't load slowly when forum spikes.
4) Screenshot of the server added.

5) How to find what the server is using and share the detail.

It should be fine. You mentioned that the site performs normally under the load spikes. According to your screenshot, the server load is 18.21 on a 24 core server (well it's probably 12 core but 24 threads). A rule of thumb is that the load should not exceed the number of cores. Your old host might be using a smaller server with a smaller number of clients on it, hence the lower server load.

Thanks Sam for explaining about the server load type. I am bit scared about exceeding the limit..

Agreed with Sam, you should be totally fine. ^.^ Since it's a Shared Hosting, it all really depends on how many people are on that server. I would not be worried about exceeding the limit since you're not the only person on that server and each sites resources will differ all the time. Leave it up to the host to worry about that stuff. ^.^

Thank you Sam and Thomasss for your views on it. Today the server load got reduced to 13-18 range. Which makes me feel better.
