MyBB Tab Categories

So this is just something that popped in my head: I really don't like the idea of the tabbed categories on MyBB. I think they just make it a little bit hard to navigate, and that an index really had no issues in the first place.

What do you guys think?

Not good.
Not supporting this idea.
Bad idea.
Hard to navigate.
Only useful for forums that are divided to 2 or more non-related niches or forums with extremely long indexes.

I've never liked the tabbed categories. I don't like clicking every tab to check for new content.

And regarding tabs. Its just a plugin, and MyBB doesn't force it to be used on Forums.
But yeah! Its usage depends on the type of Forum.
Just take a look at HackForums which is one of the first ones to implement that idea. It has lot of categories and forums which will make the Index a lot bigger.
With tabs they are better organized. So, we can't say, Tabs aren't good on the whole.
But it becomes bad only when they are used in small forums which doesn't make a sense on having tabs.

I am not sure if you know this or not,but tab cat's is not a default feature just a paid plugin.

As for me liking them, only if the forum has more then one niche,other then that I dislike them.

I think it is great for those that do not want to scroll and find the subject they are looking for. I like them.

Tabbed category could be really handy...depends on the forum(the type).
