I have heard this from numerous users, and I was just wondering if anyone else had input on this. I heard that myBB urls tend to boost your SEO simply because they use words in their URLs versus numbers. For example:
myBB said:
http://myskins.org/Thread-Myskins-Studio-V3-New-Theme-New-Features
phpBB said:
http://forumpromotion.net/viewtopic.php?f=158&t=104614

As you can see, myBB uses the topic title within the actual URL. How much of a positive effect, if any, do you guys think this has on SEO?

It would have a good positive increase on your SEO as google takes into account the domain as part of the keywords. 😉

Good point. Are their plugins for both myBB and phpBB?

Don't know about Mybb but PhpBB has got one at phpbb-seo.com.
It's not PhpBB it's phpBB with a lower case 'p'.

I think from fresh install both are not really seo friendly, thus the need of plugins.
