so I'm thinking about converting, can anyone give me opinions?
does it have better, themes? plugins ect? than Mybb.

I have never used MyBB, but from what I have seen they are similar in structure. I use phpbb though because of the themes look better.

Thank you for the info. Is that true? themes look better. i'm a css & html coder.
It's all opinion for that part anyways. Everyone has different ideas of what they think looks best. I would look into some themes first before completely moving over to a new software.

It's not really about themes. It's just that phpBB is alot more of a pain to moderate and administrate than MyBB, in my experience.

As for plugins, phpBB 3.1 should theoretically close the gap between the two, as phpBB only really had mods for a long time.

It has better themes other than that naw. Also you shouldn't switch. Php be is expected to stop making software (updates and new versions) After this upcoming one. There will prob never be a phpbb4

@ Luiz187 you should probably state that's your own personal opinion and I don't know were you heard what you are saying anyway  . phpBB being the number ONE forum software on the market with more than 50% of the marketshare compared to barely 3% of myBB, can only be moving forward. It took 8 years to develop the new 3.1(code name: ascraeus) for example. Many more major versions are scheduled and these can be achieved when certain technologies exists in the core software. They are ahead light years with the scheduled development. 😉

I went for Mybb that I just got as I'm opening up my forum. I've heard it's really easy to use so I say go for Mybb.

I've been using it for a year and i love it still.

I use MyBB on my forum, and the themes available are by no means bad at all, especially the AwesomeStyles ones. Take a look at my forum if you're interested and judge for yourself, the theme we've just added is very nice in my opinion. The plugins system and templates system is really nice, too, so I can't fault it at all 😉

I believe that smf and mybb have limited options over long term and based on what we need to do, smf and mybb are friendly for admins and modos, phpbb has a much greater and stronger community.
