How many people have used, or want to use, mybb. I like it because of all the stuff you can have, but don't like it because you have to download some stuff for it to work. What do you think.

I've tried it on a localhost server of mine, to modify and edit to to match some simple website I had going awhile ago.

Personally, my opinion, I really didn't like it. MyBB looks like it's trying copy various forums such as phpBB and SMF into one.

I hate it. It sucks. I'm sorry but to me its just the worst, even worse then phpBB2, which that isnt that bad.

I like it so far, but I just made the site, so I've got time. Your probly right dwhite about that, but I wanted to try a new hosting site(used to use if, and zetaboards)and mybb was the first one I found.

A friend used it for awhile, it was slow, it had alot of problems, prolly still does.

What I hate about it most is taht you can't add stuff to it without downloading, and if you don't have like ftp, mysql, and another thing, you can't do it.

mybb is a very nice software.. I think im going to set up a test board so I can explore the admin panel.

Thats true about any real forum software though. For a "real" phpBB board you need a database, and same for IPB, vB, and even Zetaboards, although you never see it. Zeta and InvisionFree, along with any free software hosts, they still have a database, its just hidden. MyBB isnt bad software, but it does copy too much for me to love it.

Umm if you don't have FTP and MySQL you can't install almost every forum software.

In regards to copying though every forum software copies on another like attachments - they have been in vb since like 2003 yet phpBB3 only added them last year when phpBB3 was released...

I have never used myBB but I have seen some very nice forums that are powered by it.

I have never used myBB either, but I agree with efc, some forums look nice powered by myBB... it looks a bit like a cross between phpBB and IF.

It really does have good stuff. As for what you said syka, all the sites I've ever used(except mybb) I haven't had to download anything.

MyBB is actually quite a good forum software... It takes a while to get used to it i found but it is a good forum software to use in my opinion.
