Why are they slow on version updates? Their 1.4 has been on for so long. Shouldn't they be up to 1.8 or something by now?

Well no, because Mybb is pretty stable and doesnt require updates that often. Most updates lately have been a couple small feature changes and such.

You don't release updates to software just because time has passed, you do it when you need to add features or fix bugs.

MyBB has a tonne of features that phpBB doesn#t have - Ajax ratings, one click mod installs and such fourth. The fact that phpBB is on version 3.0.5 and MyBB on 1.4.8 doesn't mean it's further behind

The phpBB3 complexity is enough for me to handle and I really think I get my time's worth out of it. Also I don't really care for those rating systems.

i don't like the rating. If someone like it they will show that by posting a lot and being active. They don't need a lot of updates they just need to be consistant
