firstimpression.webp First Impressions & Appearance – (16 out of 20)
Before I even clicked on the mySONGisRADIOready link, I noticed the domain. The domain is eighteen characters long, so it is a lengthy domain name. Personally, I feel like it might have been better to start your business off with a shorter name and domain, as long domains are usually not a good thing. You have already put a lot of work into the business though, so it is too late to be making such a major change like that. At the very least, I feel like it might be good to buy a short domain that is the initials of the site name or something. It would not be used as the main domain for the site, but it would be a nice redirect link to have when making updates on Twitter and things like that. Twitter has their character limit, so is a nice little way to use less characters. It looks like you are already using "is.gd" and "bit.ly," but I think it would work better if you purchased a cheap domain with your initials to use for that instead.

When I first looked at your website, I have to say I was impressed. I really like the web design your website has. It looks very modern and attractive. I think any potential music talent would really like the design as well. I also think the logo looks very nice. The logo looks like something you could definitely market with t-shirts, business cards, and more around the areas your business is supposed to cover (I am guessing the New York City area). The favicon looks good because it actually has something to do with the website. It is nice and simple, which is all you really need for a favicon. I normally think a site's initials would be better for it, but I do not think you would be able to fit five letters on it. Next, I am in love with the various jQuery features your website has. The effects going on with the social media icons and menu buttons look excellent. The image slider is attractive, but it has become very common on websites. If there is a better way in doing something like that, I would recommend looking into it. Perhaps you could look into getting a more advanced image slider? That one is pretty cool, but I have seen some very fancy ones that I think could benefit your site considering the genre it is in. Other than that, I think you have an excellent design on your website.

Site Layout – (16 out of 20)
Even with the really nice web design, I think the layout of the website might be a little overwhelming to potential clients. You want to utilize all of the things you have to offer, but a few of the things you have involved in the layout should probably be minimized. When I first click on your website, all I see is the logo, social media icons, menu buttons, and image slider before I have to start scrolling down to see the other things on the website. Because your primary target is finding potential clients, I think you should probably have more exposure to the three tables you have under the image slider. I feel like it would be best if the three tables are seen right when someone goes to your website. To do this, you could just make the image slider a bit shorter, as I think it could be shrunk without it taking away from the wonderful appearance you have going with your website. Also, I find it strange the way you have the blog displayed right now. You have a little bit of exposure to your website's blog on the homepage by showing the six latest blog posts. Under these latest blog posts, I think it would make sense to have a button to click on where you can see the other blog posts as well, without having to go back up to the menu. Finally, a "Read more." link on each of the blog posts on the homepage could be a good addition. It is not necessary, but right now, I see this: "NEW YORK AP – The mother of Grammy-winning pop star Bruno Mars has died..." It would be a miniscule addition, but I think it would give a tiny bit more exposure to blog posts.

stats.webp Statistics and Activity – (17 out of 20)
Another excellent thing about your website is that you are doing a great job keeping things active on the website. You seem to be writing a few blog posts each day, and that is definitely a good thing. I am actually kind of shocked at the amount of work you guys are putting into keeping things up to date. The latest blog post starts with "NEW YORK AP," so I am guessing that part of your blog posts are not completely unique, but the constant blog updates is still impressive. Next, the mySONGisRADIOready team is doing a fantastic job updating the Twitter account. Promoting your website on social networks can make or break a website, so it is awesome that you are working really hard to keep your business's Twitter account updated. I feel like you should work on bringing your attention to the other social network accounts your business has as well though.

For example, your Facebook page is getting no where near as much attention as the Twitter account. If you want to focus on a couple specific social networks, Facebook and Twitter are probably what you need to be focused on. Just about every human being seems to be using Facebook now (an exaggeration, but you know what I mean), so if you can figure out how to get your business popular on Facebook, your business will become popular as well. Right now, you have not done much with your Facebook page. I think you should work on changing that. It is really amazing that you still have 457 likes on your Facebook page. That is a pretty good amount. Maybe you could figure out some kind of reward to clients who like the official Facebook page and Twitter account? You want to get your business extremely popular on social networks! I also think you want to work on getting people to comment on the blog posts you are making. I do not see any comments on the latest blogs shown on the homepage. That is another reason why I think they need more exposure.

Content – (16 out of 20)
Your website has plenty of quality content, so I think you are doing a nice job in this area. I can see that you have a lot of information on the upcoming events that mySONGisRADIOready is hosting. It is very important to specific as much as you can when it comes to events, and as the dates of these events approach, you need to make sure to promote them as much as you can on the growing social network accounts you have for your business. Hopefully, you will continue to reach out to more and more people, and then they will become interested and look to buy tickets or become clients. Like I said, social network accounts can make or break it for businesses. One amazing thing about the way the world is connected through social networks is that it can really benefit businesses that are looking to get their name out. There is also content that just about anyone would be interested in.

The music downloads you have available is pretty cool. It looks like the stuff on SoundCloud gives links to purchasing the songs on iTunes and Google+, so that is another way to benefit your clients. Personally, I am tempted to go through and listen to a few songs, and I will definitely consider purchasing a couple songs if I like them. Finally, there is the content on the blog. I like that you have a lot of articles on well-known music artists. I think this will be appealing to potential music talents that are striving to be like Bruno Mars or Kanye West. I feel like a few things in your blog do not really relate to your business though. For example, it is sad that Bruno Mars's mother has died, but I do not feel like that has anything to do with your website. I think you should only have positive blog posts relating to music when you are covering famous music artists.

spellcheck.webp Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism – (16 out of 20)
You have done a fantastic job with spelling and grammar. I skimmed over a few blog posts, and I honestly did not notice any spelling or grammar errors. One thing I think looks unprofessional is that one of the authors for one of the blog posts is "richmond girls." I think it would look better if you had this author's name correctly capitalized. It looks like the other author names are capitalized fine like "Andrew," but if there are more author names like that, you should probably fix those as well. Next, I think the "mySONGisRADIOready" way of capitalization looks kind of unprofessional. One of my friends used to call that "camelCasing," but in my opinion, capitalizing things like that is not a very good way to portray a professional business. I think you will want to hear multiple opinions on that though, considering it is a very big decision relating to not just the website, but the business as well.

Total Score - (81 out of 100)

Final Remarks:
I really feel like mySONGisRADIOready has the potential to be a very successful business as it grows. The website has been around for less than a year, so you have not built up an excellent reputation for it just yet. There are many awesome things about the website that will definitely appeal to potential music talents!

mostliked.webp Strengths:
  • - The modern web design.
    - The activity on the website's Twitter account.
disliked.webp Weaknesses:

    - The site name and domain.
