Now i don't want to hear "Theres already topics on sites where to advertise, Theres already a list etc" I want to know what forums can really bring you members and activity, what forums are the most active etc...

Example would be this place.

Um, those are the forums you need to advertise on. There is no point relying on advertising forums such as FP. FP is full of administrators, promoting their own site. You need to go to other forums; forums full of members/users and they are who you want to attract.

Place a link in your signature and before you know it, you will get a member or two and then once you have a good reputation, people will be more inclined to join.

It's like relying on a shop to sell an orange when they don't have any in stock until the next day. What that means is it's impossible to gain members on promotion forums. Go to community sites and such.

about lee you could try posting at some of the huge general discussion forums such as Off Topic and include a link in your signature back to your forum. However, you will have to pay to get a sig link at Off Topic.

If you look through the topics in our basic promotion section you will see that lots of forum owners have got new members, by promoting their site here. The evidence is there, that admins do get members from promotion forums.

Right lets break down these topics... Your saying that they have gotten members, this is because of either a few things. 1) they are friends with the admin. 2) it's the same niche as theirs so are trying to steal traffic. 3) They are doing a posting deal. 4) They are getting backlinks. 5) They are scoping out the forum to steal unique ideas. Out of all the topics I've seen that's always the case. You don't get *quality* members from a site where everyone is a webmaster getting their own forum out there... all promotion forums do is fake stats. I've proven this to the other admins and guess what? They can't deny it. 😉

You haven't proved it, because it is not true, forum owners do get members from promotion forums, as many admins can testify from personal experience. Anyway, I'd prefer if you replied to this topic to help the OP rather than trying to prove your own point.
