I am starting up a forum with a friend of mine, and we are having a terribly hard time coming up with a name. You'd think it'd be easier than it actually is. 😛
Right now our concept is going to be a liberty like forum. Basically there will be a petitions section and members can petition to get things added/ changed/ removed. Granting users more freedom and ability to help make the forum better.
I was thinking something like Republic of *something* or *something* Republic, since I like how it sounds. But I can't think of anything to fill in those *something*s with. Any ideas?
Yes, it will be basically be a General Discussion forum, but with the petitioning and stuff. My friend and I are really having a hard time coming up with a name too.
Hey everyone.
We have come down to a couple different choices now.
I'd really love to know what you think about the names below:
Republic of Voices
Member Opinions Matter
1. the excess of votes received by the leading candidate, in an election in which there are three or more candidates, over those received by the next candidate ( distinguished from majority ).
2. more than half of the whole; the majority.
3. a number greater than one.
4. fact of being numerous.
5. a large number; multitude.
Palaver came to mind for two general discussion forums now, and I like the word plurality and think it apt, especially the last two definitions.
As for the choices you seem to have narrowed to, I prefer Republic of Voices as it is closer to evoking an image in my mind, feels livelier, while the other reads more like a dry declaration, if that makes sense.
