Hey guys,

I was wondering how to change the name servers for a domain that is hosted with namecheap.com.

So wait, it takes up to 72 hours for the name server to change?

They say 72 hours because each person's DNS updates at different rates. It can sometimes be 5 minutes or an hour or a whole day. It just varies.

However if you see other people can access your domain (or via a proxy you can access it yourself) and you can't, you can always flush your DNS 😉

How do you do that, because I can't see ny domain. 🙁

Posted with TouchBB on my iPod touch

Or clear your cache - works for me 😛

To flush your DNS...(assuming you have XP)
1. Start Menu
2. Run --> CMD
3. Type in ipconfig/flushdns & press enter
and you are done 🙂

I'd usually just reset my router so that my IP changes.

That sometimes work unless his ISP has given him a 1 IP which means he cannot switch by reseting routers..

Obviously. Just thought I'd post that in the case of him having a dynamic IP.

It didn't work for him, he is running on my host and I reccomended that to him a while ago during a live support session.

You can just switch your DNS to OpenDNS . Works for me when my ISP isn't being helpful.

Just search OpenDNS and you will find directions on it all, it's free if you are wondering.

I got it,
I reseted the router and it worked.
Thanks Mr. Green and all who tried. 😀
