Do you remember all the names of the past forums you've been on? How about the ones where you've been staff?
I remember all but one forum where I was staff, and that's because it had an unusual name, so I can remember part of the name. As far as all the forums I've ever been on, no way. I have a spreadsheet for that once I joined FP.
I’ve been part of so many forums these last 15+ years. Definitely couldn’t list off names of them. I don’t think I could even list off all the forums I’ve owned in the past. Every once in a while, I’ll come across an old logo that I had made for a particular site and I’ll be like, “Wow, I totally forgot about that site.” There’s been so many.
I definitely don't remember all of them because there's been so many over the years. Some I still have bookmarked in case I ever want to stumble back upon them, and others have unfortunately died out. I'm far better at remembering sites I've been staff on and the sites that made an impact on my life (either good or bad, sometimes even both).
I've forgotten so many forums I've been a part of over the past 25+ years, but I do remember quite a few and enjoy being a part of quite a few to this day. Some I have a bit of a soft spot for 😉
Oh definitely, when you find a great place it sticks with you, and when it goes under you miss it. I e had that happen a few times, it sucks, but then you keep on looking and, ideally, another community comes around you connect with and you make new inroads there. We've both been fortunate enough to find a few communities we both enjoy and connect with, and that's fantastic!
I was active on a lot of different forums in the past that aren’t doing so well nowadays. Theadminzone, sitepoint, digitalpoint, admin talk and Neocodex. Im probably forgetting some other ones, but these are the main forums that i was on in the past.
The only forum I was a member of in the past was Forum Wheel. I have never been paid because I was not too active on the website. I was busy doing my college thesis at that time.
