Naming Pets

Today my wife and I decided to take the kids out, and we got them a bird as a pet. They were so excited and we knew fully they would be as per their reaction to the toy pet birds we brought them on Thursday.

Anyway, it comes time to name the poor guy and my eldest daughter pronounces him "Beaky"...So we now have a Cockatiel named "Beaky"...

So, the thread. What are your pets names and how were they named?

I have a German Shepherd named Lucy, A German Shepehrd/Husky mix named Bonnie, a kitten named Luna, another cat named Oreo, another cat named Dipsy, a Pitbull named Baby that I will be adopting soon when I marry my fiancé next year, and a guinea pig named Nugget. Lucy just came to me so I decided it was the best for her, my brother named Bonnie because he liked that name, I named Luna after a character in Harry Potter because my wedding is going to be HP themed and she was the first pet we got together, I named Oreo his name because he's black and white, Dipsy because she always acts like she's drunk on catnip, I don't know why my fiancé named his dog baby, and Nugget because he looks like a chicane nugget. XD
